Our Story
Where it started
Lethan Croft Kitchen grew out of a simple way of living and working with food.
After many years spent in kitchens, on land and in community settings, we found ourselves asking the same questions again and again. Where does our food come from? Who grows it? And why does convenience so often mean compromise?
When we moved to Moray, we began cooking the way we believed food should be cooked. With real ingredients. With attention to the seasons. With respect for the land and for the people who produce what we use. We started to grow our own produce on our croft for our caterings.
Catering and meals
Food for local gatherings. Meals made using produce from nearby farms and growers we trusted. People noticed. Not because it was complicated or showy, but because it tasted right. Proper stock. Real butter. Food made from scratch.
From there, the work grew naturally. We were asked to cater weddings, community events and gatherings connected to land, food and ecology. What mattered was not scale, but care. Cooking for people we knew, and for people connected to the place we now call home.
Over time, customers began asking for our food at home. They wanted something they could heat up easily, without giving up on quality. That is how our meal delivery service came about.
2026 and beyond
Today, Lethan Croft Kitchen brings together catering, meal deliveries and growing. We remain small and hands-on, but we are continuing to grow with intention.
We are expanding our kitchen garden to grow more of the ingredients we cook with, including herbs and vegetables such as Thai basil, aubergines and lemongrass. Growing these here in Moray allows us to bring global flavours into our food while keeping them rooted in place.
We are also developing our meal delivery service, supported by LEAP funding in 2026. LEAP offers funding and mentoring to small agroecological businesses producing good food for their local communities, and this support is helping us invest in the next stage of our kitchen and delivery work.
As we grow, our focus remains the same: food that nourishes people, supports local producers and reflects the land it comes from.
Meet us
Lethan Croft Kitchen is run by Sally and Gabby. We are a social impact organisation.
Sally is a chef with many years of experience cooking in a wide range of settings. She cooks instinctively, guided by flavour, seasonality and the belief that food should be generous and satisfying.
Gabby works across the creative sides of the business. With a background in land, community and project work, she helps shape how Lethan Croft Kitchen grows and how it connects locally.
Together, we share responsibility for the cooking, growing, planning and delivery that make Lethan Croft Kitchen what it is.
